Introduction

Welcome to Tanova. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our AI-powered recruitment platform. By using Tanova, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

1. Service Description

Tanova provides an AI-assisted recruitment platform that helps both job seekers and recruiters. Our services include:

1.1 For Job Seekers

  • Free CV Checker: Evaluate your CV against job descriptions (3 evaluations per day without account)
  • Job Seeker Account (Free): Create an account to save evaluations, track improvements, and iterate on your CV
  • CV Iteration Tracking: Compare versions of your CV to see improvements over time
  • Interview Preparation: Get role-specific interview questions and preparation tips

1.2 For Recruiters & Hiring Managers

  • Recruiter Platform: Subscription-based service for unlimited CV evaluations and candidate management
  • Team Collaboration: Share evaluations and manage hiring pipelines with your team
  • Advanced Analytics: Recruitment insights and performance metrics

1.3 AI Analysis

  • 7-dimensional candidate scoring using Anthropic's Claude AI
  • Evidence-based evaluation across qualification, capability, culture fit, and presentation
  • Actionable recommendations for CV improvements

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Tanova. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the authority to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

To save evaluations and access additional features, you may create an account (optional for job seekers, required for recruiters). By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Not share your account with others

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

  • Violate Laws: Use our platform for illegal activities or to violate employment laws
  • Discriminate: Use our service to discriminate based on protected characteristics (race, gender, age, religion, disability, etc.)
  • Abuse Service: Attempt to circumvent rate limits, reverse engineer our AI, or scrape our platform
  • Upload Malicious Content: Submit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Misrepresent: Upload fraudulent CVs or job descriptions
  • Spam: Use our platform for bulk unsolicited communications
  • Infringe Rights: Violate intellectual property or privacy rights of others

5. AI Limitations & Human Oversight

IMPORTANT: AI evaluations are advisory tools only.

  • Our AI provides recommendations, not final hiring decisions
  • You must exercise human judgment and conduct proper interviews
  • AI may have biases or make errors - always verify critical information
  • Never rely solely on AI scores for hiring decisions
  • You are responsible for compliance with employment laws
  • We are not liable for hiring decisions made using our platform

6. Data Handling & Privacy

By using Tanova, you agree that:

  • You have the right to upload and process the CVs and job descriptions you submit
  • You comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws
  • You have obtained necessary consents from candidates to process their data
  • You will not upload sensitive personal data (health, biometrics, criminal records) unless legally permitted
  • Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy

7. Subscription & Payment

7.1 Anonymous Free Tier

  • Limited to 3 CV evaluations per IP address per 24 hours
  • Public evaluations expire after 30 days
  • No account required

7.2 Job Seeker Accounts (Free to Start)

  • Free account creation for job seekers
  • Initial free credits included with new accounts
  • Saved evaluations with no expiration
  • CV iteration tracking and comparison
  • Additional evaluations require credits (purchased) or subscription

7.3 Recruiter Subscriptions (Paid)

  • Billed monthly or annually (as selected)
  • Automatically renews unless cancelled
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion (contact support)
  • Cancellations take effect at end of current billing period

7.4 Trial Period

  • We may offer free trials for new recruiter users
  • Trial converts to paid subscription unless cancelled
  • One trial per company

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our IP

Tanova owns all rights to our platform, AI models, algorithms, branding, and content. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our intellectual property.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of CVs and job descriptions you upload. By using our service, you grant us a license to:

  • Process your content through our AI systems
  • Store evaluations and results
  • Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our services

We will NOT use your specific CVs or job postings for marketing or share them with competitors.

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting support.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Abuse our service or rate limits
  • Fail to pay subscription fees
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Use our platform for illegal purposes

10. Disclaimers

SERVICES PROVIDED "AS IS"

  • We do not guarantee 100% uptime or error-free service
  • AI evaluations may contain inaccuracies or biases
  • We are not responsible for hiring decisions made using our platform
  • We do not warrant that our service meets your specific requirements
  • We are not liable for data loss (maintain your own backups)

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Tanova is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the past 12 months
  • We are not liable for hiring decisions, discrimination claims, or employment law violations
  • We are not responsible for third-party services (Anthropic AI, payment processors)

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Tanova harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of our platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of employment laws or data protection regulations
  • Hiring decisions made using our service
  • Content you upload (CVs, job descriptions)

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Arbitration

Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to class action lawsuits.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account.

15. Export Compliance

Our service uses AI technology that may be subject to export controls. You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and not use our service in embargoed countries or for prohibited purposes.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
