News, announcements, and media resources for Tanova
After achieving 1,000 candidate evaluations through 100% organic growth during a deliberate stealth beta, Tanova today announced the open-source release of its 7D Candidate Evaluation Framework and Skills Taxonomy under MIT and CC BY 4.0 licenses.
Tanova is the only platform where candidates see their 7-dimensional fit score before applying—creating a two-sided transparency marketplace that benefits both job seekers and recruiters.
Our 7D Candidate Evaluation Framework goes beyond traditional keyword matching to evaluate candidates across seven independent dimensions: Qualification Match, Capability Confidence, Situational Stability, Reward Potential, Cultural Fit, Career Trajectory, and Compensation Alignment.
After validating our methodology with 1,000+ organic evaluations during a 60-day stealth beta (zero marketing spend), we're open-sourcing both the 7D Framework and our Skills Taxonomy to raise industry standards for transparent AI hiring.
Founder & CEO
Sune Pedersen is a technology executive with 25+ years building and scaling engineering organizations from startup to enterprise. As founder of Tanova, he's on a mission to make hiring more transparent and fair through AI-powered candidate evaluation that goes beyond keyword matching.
Before Tanova, Sune built and sold 4 technology companies with profitable exits, raised €1.1M+ in venture capital, and led turnarounds generating billions in revenue. His experience spans roles as CTO at companies like NKT Thinkt Digital (€1.5B industrial manufacturer), KickID (AI-powered sports tech), and technical leadership at Baker Hughes and Laerdal Medical. He's also the founder of Yachtly, an AI-powered yacht rental marketplace in Dubai.
Passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems, Sune recognized that traditional ATS systems systematically filter out exceptional talent—self-taught engineers, career changers, and entrepreneurs—through opaque keyword matching. Having started his first company at age 21 and built software deployed on 15M+ computers by age 25, he understands firsthand how non-traditional backgrounds can produce extraordinary results.
Tanova's approach is different: validate first, then scale. After achieving 1,000 organic evaluations in 60 days during stealth mode, Sune made the decision to open-source the 7D Framework and Skills Taxonomy to benefit the entire industry. He's also served as a mentor at StartupBootcamp Copenhagen and The Place Berlin, advising 20+ early-stage startups on product strategy and fundraising.
